Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement and Action Plan

Grove Mount Residential Home will follow the advice given by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to help combat COVID-19. Our priority is the safety of our residents and staff members. By following the advice of the DHSC we will be able to ensure that we have in place what is needed to manage infection control.

Grove Mount has made the following decisions in order to attempt to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading to and within the home.

1.       Lockdown of the Home commenced on Saturday, 2nd January 2021 at 4:25 pm.

1.1.    Notices were placed at all entry points

1.2.    Staff to use staff only entrance area and sanitizing area

1.3.    Family and friends were contacted and made aware of lockdown

1.4.    Doors were locked to everyone other than emergency services

1.5.    Staff members who had recently travelled, been in contact with anyone testing positive, or at locations at dates and times given by DHSC were asked to self-isolate for 14 days

1.6.    Services were contacted and made aware and instructed with drop off areas

1.7.    Staff who could work from home were given the ability to do so

2.       Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) put in to place to manage infection control

2.1.    Weekly orders made

2.2.    Weekly updates given to DHSC

3.       Social distancing used when possible

3.1.    In areas when social distancing is not possible staff are to use PPE

4.       Infection Control and PPE training given to all staff

5.       Video Chat made available for residents and family members to maintain contact while continuing social distancing.

6.       Cleaning and sanitizing of communal areas increased

7.       Temperatures of staff and residents taken and recorded

Grove Mount will continue to monitor the situation and update these measures to follow the latest government advice.

In the event of a resident or member of staff being or suspected of being infected with COVID-19 Grove Mount will alert the DHSC and will follow any advice given to ensure the safety of all residents and staff members.
